If you are considering More House, our Prospective Parent Events are perfect opportunities to discover our unique school community and transformative day and boarding provisions.
At More House, we empower our students to transform their futures.
In a uniquely aspirational environment, pupils with weaknesses in their literacy, developmental language and attention skills discover their strengths and find self-belief. A rich mainstream, academic curriculum is delivered through adaptive teaching and specialist intervention; our pupils realise academic and social outcomes, including university entry, well above national averages. Full and weekly boarding is also available to pupils aged 10-18 looking to turn travel time into meaningful social and extra-curricular opportunities.
Nationally celebrated as a centre for excellence, and repeatedly graded ‘Outstanding’ in every area by Ofsted, our school boasts a rich, 85 year history of supporting boys with Specific Learning Difficulties to realise successes far beyond their expectations.
As one community, we build pupils’ academic, creative, sport and social achievement. Our specialist approach in every classroom is carefully designed to help pupils realise their own potential through adaptation of teaching methods to ensure all students can access the learning and acquire the skills to make the best possible progress.
A varied curriculum is complemented by an inspiring co-curricular programme and enrichment opportunities, so that each pupil is successful amongst his peers, and learns to recognise that success.
Our boarders’ experiences are stimulating and happy within an environment where they are cared for and supported through a partnership between parents and the school. Boarding at More House provides fantastic opportunities for pupils, whatever their interests.
Growing our students’ self-confidence and independence enables them to transform their lives and realise aspirational futures.
Boarding at More House is unique, empowering every pupil on his journey towards independence.
Underpinning our ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted 2023) provision are dedicated professionals and low staff-student ratios, within a supportive community which empowers pupils to succeed. We build self-confidence and independence, tracking progress against each individual’s starting point.
We were also shortlisted for ‘Boarding School of the Year’ within Independent School Parent magazine’s 2024 Independent School of the Year awards.
