This year Holmewood celebrates its 80th year as a boarding prep. Full boarders enjoy a vibrant community, all within a home-from-home setting. From supervised prep and shared mealtimes to exciting weekend activities and pastoral care, every part of boarding life is designed to help children grow in confidence and independence. Boarding at Holmewood is more than just a place to rest your head – it’s about building friendships, developing resilience, and discovering who you are.

We are proud of our excellent academic success, with the majority of pupils gaining entry into their first-choice senior schools, including Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, and Brighton College. Many also achieve scholarships—academic or co-curricular—in areas such as sport, music, art, and drama. Our robust and vibrant Year 7 and 8 programme ensures older pupils are well-prepared for these next steps, leaving as confident, well-rounded individuals.

Holmewood House has a strong reputation for sporting excellence, with pupils excelling in a variety of disciplines. We also offer over 100 clubs and activities, giving children countless opportunities to discover and pursue their passions. Our thriving Music, Drama, Art, Design Technology & Engineering departments inspire creativity and innovation, while our new Medical and Wellbeing Centre reflects our commitment to pastoral care, ensuring every child feels supported and valued.
