Maidwell Hall

Maidwell Hall in Northamptonshire was honoured to host Marios Papadopoulos MBE and other members of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra for a special evening of music to raise money for the school’s new performance hall. Parents, pupils and other friends of the school were treated to ‘Gypsy Rondo’ by Haydn and Schubert’s ‘Trout’ from key members of the orchestra. It was an inspirational evening for all, particularly the pupils, who were delighted to have the opportunity to hear world-famous musicians playing at their school. They were also very excited to hear a rare Stradivarius violin played by the very talented violinist Natalia Lomeiko. The evening was a perfect way to build on the fundraising that the school is currently undertaking. This exciting new development will see a performance hall, music school, classrooms and library being added to the school. Headmaster Robert Lankester commented, ‘We felt privileged to host such eminent musicians and are grateful for the time they gave. We all enjoyed an evening of world-class music, and the children were inspired to see such talented professionals at their school.’
